Reflections

Three Candles on Christmas

I hope that everyone had a great holiday!  I spent Christmas at my parents' home in lil' ole Lemoore watching the basketball games and catching up on pop culture.  My family celebrated "Noche Buena" on Christmas Eve, so that's when we had our big dinner.  It's been real nice to just relax and not think about a "To Do" list for once!

I have done quite a bit of reflecting the past couple days and feeling very grateful for everything that has happened this past year.  The year has gone by so fast - and although I say that every year, this year in particular has sped by.  I told myself that I was going to savor every moment of this year, but I think I may have slipped a little and tried to hurry up and accomplish all the goals that I had set for myself.  As much as I preach about living in the moment, sometimes I didn't follow my advice - and that's ok.  I'm not going to beat myself over it.  I'm learning.

However, I am becoming more aware of those moments when I'm not present whereas before I would just get lost in my thoughts - not even realizing that I had just missed a week of my life because I was "overthinking".

Endless Possibilities

I'm really excited about what's in store for me next.  Instead of thinking, "Oh, it's just another day", I'm anticipating the endless possibilities out there.

As I look back at 2008, I realize that it was filled with so many surprises...like moving into a place with a phenomenal view of the lake and mountains...

Beautiful View in California

I'm also very grateful to have managed to get through the year without allowing the doom and gloom of the financial markets and economy affect my lifestyle.  Being able to work at home is a huge blessing.  Despite a couple setbacks I had, including the Know More Media situation and watching my stocks take a nosedive, I kept a clear head and didn't panic.  In fact, it was business as usual for me.  Thank Goodness for multiple streams of income

If there is one thing I learned this year....

The possibilities are endless!

Try saying that to yourself every day and see what happens ;)

Focusing On the Positive

2008 was the year that I worked on focusing on the positive.  I am an eternal optimist by nature, but there are certain aspects of my life that needed some work.  For one, I never gave myself credit for the things I accomplished.  I would look at my "To Do" list at the end of each day and focus on the things I didn't finish - not even giving any thought to all the things I did do that day.  However, thanks to Jennifer Horton who helped me to refocus.  Now I celebrate all the goals that I've met instead of focusing on what I haven't done.

So Grateful

I wish I could list all the wonderful people I've either met or stayed connected with this year, but there are just way too many.  If you're reading this, I thank you!  I'm happy that our paths have crossed - even if on a virtual plane!  I only hope that you've learned something from reading this blog or reading one of my many blogs...

The mission still is to "Create a Beautiful World, One Person At a Time"!

Whenever I feel too lazy to blog, I go to Utterli and record a short podcast. I've been very busy the past couple weeks and to be real honest, feeling a bit overwhelmed. You can probably sense it in my voice in my latest "Utter". Listen to everything I've been up to by clicking the play button below...visiting this link...(Embedding the player here didn't work!)
